It was a cold, blizzardy (is that even a word) night, but my best girl friend and I were determined to go out for our girls night out.
We thought we were going to go to the new Mexican restaurant in town but it looked kinda spooky as we drove by so we settled for our old standard, The Jail. Which in reality is really a Pizza Delight restaurant but since the building had been a jail in it's former life, that is what we all called it.
As we walked into the crowded restaurant we were happily surprised to see a long table full of our mutual friends. They quickly waved us over and insisted that we join them. This was so much more socializing then we thought we'd get that night. We were totally stoked! While we were shoving the pizza and garlic fingers in our faces, people began discussing what to do after dinner. The plan was to head over to the Inns and play some Risk.
While neither my friend or I were avid Risk players, we were more than happy to come along if only to enjoy being with so many fun people.
Once we were all settled down to play the game, Mike made sure to pair people up fairly, i.e one person who has no idea what they're doing paired up with someone who has been playing the game since birth. As he made the rounds around the table, he skipped me and I was a little confused and quickly spoke up and he reassured me that I would be Marko's partner when he arrived.
I had heard of this Marko fellow before. He was the son of one of the teachers I worked with. The only time I had actually seen him though, was when he drove his mother to work and even then I could only see his shoes and bottoms of his pants as my classroom was in the basement.
Well that night changed everything. We were the perfect match as we conquered the world that night and became King and Queen of the world!
And now after 4 years of marriage and two little ones later I'd have to say that we're still King and Queen of our little world.

Judging from what I've seen of Laura's blog, these two would make excellent use of the night out, and probably post pictures. It would be a great choice, so I vote for Laura and Marko!

To whom it may concern, after I sent in my story I received an email with a link to my story which let me know that I could tell my friends about this contest and encourage them to vote for me. I have a blog (lauraperic.blogspot.com..you can go and check it out for yourself) and so I told all my friends about it, set the link up there and have written two posts about it. I wrote the second post today which would account for the influx of votes. I didn't see anything in the contest rules about voting twice so if someone has voted twice and if that is against the rules then please by all means remove my story from the running. I would certainly not want to win because I "cheated."
I am the 'Mike' mentioned in this story, and I love hearing the tale! Marko is such a great guy, and Laura a great gal. They have been great friends to my wife and I, and we would LOVE to see them have a special night out on the town!
