Jeff & I met on September 8, 1996 at Bel-Aire Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN. We immediately hit it off since we were both new to the area. He asked if he could sit next to me in Sunday School. Afterwards, he asked me to lunch (Later, I found out he thought he had a better chance at lunch than dinner less threatening!) I paused a moment before answering...lunch with a really cute guy that I just met, or home to study and watch the Braves.

Well, on our way to lunch, we asked each other so many questions that by the time we were finished, it felt like we d known each other all our lives.

But, the most interesting moment was yet to come. As we were walking down the street in Nashville, a homeless man met us on the sidewalk. As we walked past him, he looked at Jeff and said, Well, I see it looks like you finally found her. You hang on to this one. That's the last we saw of him. On our way home, we stopped by the mall and Jeff just stopped and looked at me.

Then he said I may not hit a ball like Chipper (Jones Atlanta Braves) and I may not be able to carry a tune like Harry (Connick, Jr.) but will you be my girlfriend?

Of course, I said. Yes! And the rest is now history!
