Love GenX Style Contest entry #8
Remember the story with the most votes wins the "date with your spouse" gift certificate! If you haven't yet submitted a story...what are you waiting for? :)
Today's entry is from Tara B.
I met my husband in 1994 when we were both in our early 20s. At the time, we both were interested in each other, but I never knew he was interested and started dating someone else.
We kept in touch with each other throughout college and even through both of our wedding days. Would you believe that I was the guest-book girl in his wedding? As the years went by, we began to lose touch with each other. My marriage fell apart and I went through a time of having to work to support myself. While I was working one day, he walked into the store with his sister. I was (embarrassed?) and somewhat reluctant to tell him of my failed marriage, however, was somewhat strangely comforted to learn that he too was going through the same thing.
We met for coffee and talked quite a bit for the next year...then tried dating...then got married...and had our beautiful daughter last year.
The strange thing about this story? Both men have the same names, both have sister/sister in laws with the same names...and both my ex and my husband's ex had children at a young age that ended up with adoptive families in the same small town (of less than 600 families or 2500 people).

There were other coincidences that I've left out because I wanted it to be believable. I'll get more into that if we win!
What a wonderful story. So glad you finally found your true happiness and have a wonderful addition to your family.
